The Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time (Part 3)

Sunday 14 June 2020 at 3pm on 3KND – 1503AM – or the I Heart Radio App

We’re really getting to the sharp end of the stick now – part 3 of our ambitious “play all 196 songs from the sixties that have been included in the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of all Time.” At this stage of the list, we’re getting heavy with some of the big time influencers in sixties music – The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Bob Dylan.

Here are just some of the artists taking to the stage during the show.

Johnny Cash

Patsy Cline

The Byrds

CCR

The Shirelles

The Kinks

Elvis Presley

The Temptations

Charles’ Pick

While My Guitar Gently Weeps – The Beatles

A true masterpiece from The Beatles’, penned by the all too often unsung genius that was George Harrison. The song conveys Harrison’s disappointment at the unrealised potential for love in the world, and is also thought to be disappointment with the band’s upheavels at the time.

The Show’s Playlist

Here’s the complete playlist that went to air during the show. If you missed out, then don’t forget – whatever you do – to tune in to the next Sixties Sojourn program!
